An ideal day would start early, with a walk from Karavostamo, towards “Aris Beach”. The path should lead you to a small paradise with large trees and a stream running under a bridge near an abandoned watermill. You will probably get to see goats walking around, tiny crops and of course the beach, where you can have a morning swim.

After that you should drive to Evdilos and head inland, towards the Castle of Koskinas, build by Byzantines since 10BC. You can get a panoramic view of the Island there and you can also visit the protected deep forest of “Ranti”.

If you turn back, be sure to follow the road towards Fradato village and make a stop at the monastery of “Theoskepastis Panagias”, as this is also one of the best architectonic sights of the island. You should definitely stop to eat something at the traditional village of Raches, where you can also buy some souvenirs and taste local made products.

Final stop should be the beach of Nas, a natural trademark of Ikaria that features a small beach, a lake, a canyon, ruins of an ancient temple and a handful of taverns with great food and astonishing view. Be sure not to miss the breathtaking sunset there.
